Private garden - In Tuscany - near Pescaglia - Lucca - Italy
This is the garden of a great lover of camellias and Magnolias. He composed a magnificent collection there. His garden is in the mountains, about thirty kilometres from Lucca. It is laid out on a terrace and has about 750 camellias. It is a beautiful walk and the collection is superb. It has been enriched over time and the travels of the owners.
To access the garden, you have to take this staircase. We start our walk in the middle of the camellias. Some of them are carefully pruned at the edges.
Camellias are numerous and are found on terraces, where they can form undergrowth. They mingle with Magnolias. Opposite, 'Montironi', the famous Italian camellia.
